Let Your Inner Escape Artist Out

Let-Your-Inner-Escape-Artist-Out

If you’ve always wondered whether you would be able to extricate yourself from a difficult situation, you no longer need to guess. At EscapeWorks Denver, you and 8-12 of your friends will have the opportunity to spend a fun and challenge filled hour solving puzzles and hunting down clues in a theme-based room. If you’re able to escape before your 60 minutes run out, you win; if not, you’ll have to try your hand (and brain) again! Read on to learn more about what to expect from, and how to prepare for, your first EscapeWorks experience.

What Can You Expect From an Escape Room?

In any of the escape rooms available, you’ll find yourself facing a series of puzzles, riddles, and sometimes even physical challenges. For example, a key hidden on a bookshelf may unlock a desk drawer containing a note written in code. By deciphering the code, you may be able to locate a secret room or doorway containing even more clues. Eventually, you’ll find a code (or a key) that will allow you to the escape.

EscapeWorks offers several unique and highly-detailed rooms for your escape experience, including:

Egyptian Tomb: In this popular room, you and your team of explorers will find yourself trapped in an Egyptian tomb that’s been sealed for nearly a century. The last archaeologist who traveled this route disappeared under mysterious circumstances, and it’s up to you and your team to retrace his footsteps, determine his fate, and make your way out of the room within the 60-minute deadline.

The Big Game: A sports rivalry becomes personal with this escape room, as you (the star quarterback for Denver’s team) and your teammates are locked in the coach’s office to ensure you won’t be on the field to play a long-anticipated rematch against Seattle. Finding your way out of this office within an hour provides your only opportunity to win the big game.

Casino Heist: You and your companions have spent months planning the perfect casino heist, but your mastermind has abandoned your plan and turned over this information to the police. You’ll need to escape the casino, get your funds, and get out before your 60 minutes have passed.

Outbreak: In this post-apocalyptic room, you and your team find yourself in an abandoned research laboratory where scientists were close to a breakthrough vaccine. You’ll need to continue researching a cure, vaccinate your group, and escape the room before the oxygen runs out.

How to Prepare

Part of the fun of EscapeWorks Denver is its accessibility to a wide audience—other than ensuring you don’t need to use the restroom prior to your experience, there is not much you’ll need to prepare yourself, either mentally or physically.

On the other hand, when selecting your team, in addition to choosing those you’re certain will rise to the challenge, you may want to consider selecting people from a wide range of professions, ages, and interests. Having both math whizzes and poets in your corner can provide you with the diversity of viewpoints you need to solve puzzles and escape within the allotted time.
