Our Favorite Dishes from Civic Center Eats

Civic Center Eats

Continuing our series about local food options around downtown Denver, we’d like to share some of our favorite items available at the Civic Center EATS food truck collective! Be sure to schedule a visit the next time you’re in the area on Wednesday or Thursday. Civic Center EATS has a rotating selection of food trucks available, so be sure to check online to see what’s around when you come downtown. The EscapeWorks crew were able to try a selection of the Thursday trucks, and we’d like to share our thoughts!

J Street

Pot Stickers
Fried pork dumplings tossed in housemade pot sticker sauce, w/scallions.Sunny tried J Streets’ potstickers, and said they were very tangy and flavorful. He’s looking forward to trying the rest of their menu, which includes a number of interesting asian street cuisine!

Basecamp Provisions

Basecamp Bowl
Israeli couscous salad with corn & green chilies, antibiotic-free smoked pork, shredded cabbage, tomatoes, cucumbers, tahini sauce, sunflower seeds and pepitas.
Matt ordered the Basecamp Bowl, a protein and grain lunch bowl with, as you can see, a wide variety of fixin’s. If you need larger portions, Basecamp’s got you covered.basecamp

Original by Greeks

Angus Steak Gyro
Juicy house made Angus beef gyro wrapped in a toasted pita with our house made Tzatziki Sauce, tomatoes and onion.
Steven had the angus beef gyro, and he was adamant about telling me how well the meat was cooked! If you’re more carnivorously inclined, be sure to give this truck a visit.greeks

Radical Sasquatch Dumpling Company

Beast Fries
A combination of their Parmesan Garlic Sage Fries and our Buffalo Fries. Garlic sage butter and buffalo sauce with parmesan and blue cheese crumbles.
Claire found the buffalo sauce on these fries extremely spicy, but they didn’t overpower the other flavors. The cheese melded well, and the outcome was a delicious, tangy blend of flavor.

Jerk Chicken Dumplings
Dark meat chicken, roasted poblano peppers, smoked paprika onions and cream cheese then deep fried and tossed in our house made sweet and spicy jerk sauce.
The jerk chicken dumplings were less spicy than the Beast Fries, Sam discovered. He mused that there was a good blend of savory and sweet flavors that did not overpower one another, which seems to be one of Radical Sasquatch’s biggest strengths.radical
